Mónica is a DC based actor and educator with a degree in Theater with an Acting Focus from Washington University in St. Louis.
After working with the award-winning CLIMB Theatre in Minnesota, she was seen around NYC in some of her favorite theatrical roles: Judy in Better Places to Go, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing, Martirio in The House of Bernarda Alba, Linda Rotunda in Savage in Limbo, Viola in Twelfth Night, and as the title character in Miss Julie.
She is the co-founder of The TRUF, an inter-generational theater company focused on sharing stories for children and adults with shared themes, and can also be found onscreen and most recently as the misunderstood Sienna on "The Store," a new series directed by Shewan Howard and produced by Stand Up 8 Productions.
She has also been seen entertaining even the youngest of theater-goers in such children’s classics as Alice in Wonderland where she played the Duchess and the Dormouse, as Green Dog in Dr. Seuss’s Go, Dog, Go! and most recently as the Snake Queen in Looking Glass Theatre’s Calamity Jane Battles the Horrible Hoopsnakes.
Mónica is also a proud mom of two gorgeous babies, an avid dance partner to her equally gorgeous husband, and a self-proclaimed dork who adores board games and scavenger hunts. No, really. She loves them. A lot.
